UMass Boston is a 24/7 campus. Our new residence halls have transitioned our grounds into a second home for students, both for those who commute and those who reside here.

UMass Boston is your link to the city.  Downtown Boston is just a few minutes away via the T, connecting you to employment, internship, and co-op opportunities.  498 companies recruit on campus.

UMass Boston approaches learning from a global and diverse perspective.  12% of our students are international, coming from 146+ countries and speaking 60+ languages.  59% are students of color, and 59% are first-generation college students.  That economic, racial, and international diversity creates a collaborative environment, where students from all backgrounds learn from each other while they learn their curriculum. Problems are approached from many different viewpoints.

UMass Boston is a distinguished institution in our city, helping to solve Boston’s social, environmental, and economic challenges through cutting-edge research, led by respected faculty.  93% of our full-time faculty holds the highest degree in their fields, and new buildings like the Integrated Science Complex equip us to discover groundbreaking solutions to local and global problems.

UMass Boston is a community of its own.  Our students lead 100+ clubs on campus and compete in 18 NCAA Division III teams and intramural leagues.  Your education doesn’t end at the walls of the classroom; whether it’s on the field, in the theater, or on the newspaper page, you’ll learn teamwork and organizational skills that you’ll use for the rest of your career.
