NERSP-eligible students save $2,936.50 a semester compared to regular out-of-state tuition. That means a typical NERSP-eligible student saves $11,746 off a master's degree! Compare the rates for a typical semester:1

  • In-State Tuition Rate: $8,948
  • NERSP Tuition Break Rate:  $14,529.50

Eligibility

You are eligible for the NERSP tuition break if you currently live in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont — that's it! Simply apply to a participating UMass Boston graduate program, and if you are accepted and enroll, the tuition break will automatically be reflected in your billing.2

Participating Graduate Programs

Starting with admission for the fall 2019 semester, almost all UMass Boston graduate programs are eligible for the NERSP tuition break! A few graduate programs require a case-by-case determination that the program is not available at an institution in your home state. Those programs are Critical and Creative Thinking (MA), Instructional Design (MEd), and the following certificate programs: Applied Behavior Analysis for Special Populations, Instructional and Learning Design, Instructional Technology Design, and International Development.
